Polish Society of
Endocrinology
10th Alice and Albert Netter Days
12.09.2024
Dear Collegues ,
We have been recognized by the European Society of Gynecology with the organization of the 8th Albert Netter Days in Wrocław, October 20-21, 2016, thus commemorating an important researcher - both for the Society and gynecology itself - and a wonderful doctor.
The Polish Society of Gynecological Endocrinology, Polish Society of Gynecologists and Obstericians and the Polish Society of Endocrinology have the distinction to co-organize 10th Alice and Albert Netter Days (September 20-21, 2024 in partnership with the European Society of Gynecology.
The place of our meeting is Krakow , the former capital of Poland until 1795 and the coronation city with the necropolis of Polish kings on Wawel Hill. Krakow is one of the leading centers of culture and science in Poland . Here worked the most outstanding Polish artists: Stanisław Wyspiański, Stanisław Przybyszewski, Józef Mehoffer, and contemporaries Karol Wojtyła, Tadeusz Kantor, Stanisław Lem, Slawomir Mrożek, Andrzej Wajda, Nobel Prize winners Czesław Miłosz and Wisława Szymborska. To this day, Krakow is the capital of writers and artists .
Among the tourist attractions of Krakow are the Wawel Castle , St. Mary's Church with the altar of Witt Stwosz , numerous museums with art galleries and the unforgettable Jewish district of Kazimierz with its wonderful restaurants . Krakow offers an unforgettable , magical atmosphere and is a place where everyone wants to return.
To emphasize the academic nature of our meeting, the Alice & Albert Netter Days will be held within the walls of one of the oldest European universities, the Jagiellonian University Collegium Maius . This university was founded in 1364 from the foundation of Kazimierz III the Great , and originally consisted of three faculties: liberal arts , medicine and law . Renewed in 1400 in Cracow by Władysław II Jagiello from the foundation of Jadwiga Andegawenska . Only in 1817 was it given the name "Jagiellonian" to emphasize the university's ties to the Jagiellonian dynasty. Among the university's graduates over the years have been people of culture, science, politicians and rulers, including astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus (15th century), poet Jan Kochanowski (16th century), Polish King Jan III Sobieski (17th century.)
The aim of our meeting in Cracow is the close integration of all European circles of gynecologists and endocrinologists. The scientific program is being guided mainly on the practical aspects of the problems encountered everyday by gynecologists and obstetricians. However, it shall also feature medical novelties, fruitful debates as well as sessions organized by the national scientific societies in order to present their “specialite de la maison”. There shall also be time for interdisciplinary sessions (for instance endocrinology of pregnancy) and the laparoscopic and ultrasonography workshops, presenting the newest techniques.
We strongly believe that you will not regret making the decision to participate in this remarkable scientific meeting.
See you in Cracow !!!
